DOL raises minimum salary for overtime: A final rule issued by the U.S. Department of Labor raises the minimum salary threshold for an employee to qualify for overtime to $35,578 a year an increase from the current $23,660. The new regulation also increases the weekly salary level from the current $455 to $684 per week. This change goes into affect January 1, 2020.

 

Final IRS 2020 Form W-4Form W-4 has major revisions to make accurate income-tax withholding easier for employees. Current employees need not submit a new form but, by doing so, they can help ensure correct withholding. Those hired after January 1, 2020 must complete the new form.
