Lisa Sabourin: President/CEO

Lisa Sabourin joined the Association in 1993 as a part-time, summer position during college. That “summer job” has evolved into an “amazing career.”

Lisa spent the first years learning and mastering employment and safety regulations and practices, as well as developing a true partnership with each member. She was promoted to President in 2005.

Lisa has worked closely with member organizations on all employee relation aspects; including workplace culture, hiring, performance management, wages and benefits, safety, wellness and more. She obtained a Senior Professional Human Resources certification in 2004.

As part of the Association’s commitment to positive employee relations in West Michigan, it is likewise a passion for Lisa. She has served on several advisory boards and ad hoc committees, is an active Rotarian, currently serves on the 1in21 Healthy Muskegon County advisory board, chairs the Business Committee for the initiative.

Lisa is a full-time “soccer mom” and enjoys any outdoor activity with her husband and two sons including boating, snowmobiling, and camping.

Jennie Koch: Administrative & Marketing Coordinator

Jennie joined the Association in May of 2015. She was born and raised in West Michigan. Jennie graduated from Kendall college of Art and Design with a bachelor's degree in Visual Communications.

Before joining the Association she worked for a church for 10 years where she was able to utilize her design skills. She enjoyed building relationships with the people in the congregation and hope to bring those skills to the Association.

She enjoys spending time with her husband and son. Jennie also enjoys exploring new places. You will always find her planning the next exciting trip.

Angie Ecklund: HR Services Coordinator

After earning her bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University in Public and Nonprofit Administration emphasizing in Human Resources Management, Angie’s goal was to remain in West Michigan. Gaining experience in both nonprofit organizations and associations prior to joining our team as the Human Resources Administrative Assistant at Bethany Christian Services, and most recently the Membership and Foundation Administrator at the Michigan Dental Association. Angie comes to the EA passionate about membership engagement.

A social media guru, and a social butterfly Angie’s interests in working for nonprofit organizations began when she realized she was motivated by serving others, and engaging in relationships.
